STEAM: cool technology at your finger tips
By Spenser Trella
STEAM, an online game-store that sells over 3,000 games, carries only PC games that are available for download. What makes STEAM a great online store is that it is user friendly. It also carries video games that aren’t usually available on the PC, like "Assassin’s Creed," "Mario Kart," and the "LEGO Game."
Allowing its users to have a group gaming experience, STEAM can schedule events for participants’ friends by saying, "Everybody play Team Fortress 2 on Spoiled Pickle’s Wondrous Server!"
Another fun way to use STEAM is to earn trading cards. They are earned by getting achievements for playing the game like “destroy a turret with another turret” and out-of-game things like “get 15 friends.” The trading cards portray characters from Valve video games like "Heavy," from Team Fortress 2 and "Glados," from the Portal saga. Players can trade these cards with friends. It is also possible to collect all the cards with the characters from all the Valve games.
Check out STEAM-- a great way to make your video gaming experience more fun, and best of all, it's free.

The next big thing!
Say hello to the next big thing! It's the Samsung Galaxy S5--the next generation of the S series. The first Samsung and Android phone with a fingerprint scanner, this phone is going to be only available to use with the Pay Pal and Samsung app. We could only hope this technology will be useful somehow when using apps. With the ability to connect to WI-FI, this feature is useful to download apps faster with quick webpage loading time.
Also water and dust resistant, with an IP67 certification, Galaxy S5 is resistant to sweat, rain, liquids, sand and dust; so, the phone is protected for any activity and situation. The company found a way to save battery life; 10% battery will last at most 1.2 days on standby mode; so you won't miss a call again. Their trick is to change the screen to grayscale (which includes black and white). It also shuts down all unnecessary features to dramatically minimize battery consumption.
While these are only some of the phone's highlights, I personally think other companies will want to compete with the next big thing. As of right now, this will be the best phone on the market.
